Deep Sea 3D – IMAX

We went to see Deep Sea 3D at the IMAX theatre at Melbourne Museum  last night with free preview tickets from the Melbourne University Underwater Club.

It was a very nostalgic movie for us because so much of it was Pacific North-West marine life… lots of memories of plumose anemone forests, giant nudibranchs, giant pacific octopuses, wolf-eels etc.

The 3D effects were awesome. The little kids at the front were putting their hands up to touch the squid and moon jellies that seemed to be swimming right through the audience. To complement, the Melbourne Museum has a huge underwater display at the moment. If you can get to see both or either, I recommend a visit.
